Frosted tail lights brainstorming

Let us not confuse this with the "clear jdm" tail light craze of the 2000s lord those were disgusting.. I'm talking white/frosted I think is a really nice touch on a clean car matching to the front clear corners
So most guys heat the housings so the lenses are unglued and there is 2 layers a plastic the outer is clear and the inner has the coloring so they separate the layers and frost the inside of the outer layer

I do not believe this will work for the festie as I'm pretty sure it's one layer that's colored
Is there anyway to undye plastic or will we need to make new lenses

has any one successfully heat gunned the lenses off a 20 year old tailite? i melted and cracked the first one i tried and gave up. i wanted to take the 3 pieces and have them scanned for 3D printing in clear plastic (which i like) but i wonder if you can duplicate the prismatic reflection of factory.

only way i know to de-color them is to expose to direct sunlight for about 15+ yrs.

Got one off , put it in the oven on 350 for abut 5 mins pryed on it and back in the oven back and forth till it came off

Yeah do NOT try to use a heat gun on them. In the oven. Nice even low heat. 350 is a bit much. 200-250 should do.

Depends on the shape but very likely yes. I do clear parts all the time. However part has to be clear coated with 2k automotive clear. Also might shatter if a stone bounces off say a trailer your towing and hits it. The materiel we do clear with is fairly stong but not the most impact resistant when thinner.
Also a bit spendy from the company i work for probly.
Heres 2 parts in clear. Not the best examples but we dont have any clear parts waiting to be picked up right now.

See I'm wondering if that's worth it or ordering some off a forum member with a scanner and quality printer but it's good to know a company like that exists as back up

i wouldn't be doofus enough to run clear bulbs. red and amber bulbs behind clear brake and signal lenses. i always thought the nissan altima tails were a nice hybrid of ricer clear and classic round colored lenses. maybe somebody really sharp on 3D could print a clear brake lens that incorporates a big round red lens in the center.
cops in my neck seem oblivious to nuclear blast headlights and saturn V grade harley exhaust but i did get stopped recently for being 3mph over the limit.

3mph? Thats not even worth the thought process, let alone the time.

Anyway, frosting the lenses like it pic requires clearing the mandatory colored reflectors, that's the main problem.
