As I was perfectly drifting past the apex Joey48442 looked at me and yelled "You know, I have never been in a rollover accident before!"... it all went downhill from there.

          Gotwalts was pretty quick too.

Anyway back to the question, I have printed a speedometer after getting the primary position for each speed. I used a different engine and tranny than what was in the car to start with and a majorly different diameter. The vehicle in question was a 1989 Ford Ranger with a Carbed 5.0, a T5 and 225/5016 tires

sorry for the celluloid to digital pic but it is the only one I have left of the truck.

I used a brush script font, made it on my PC, saved it as a .JPG took it to a buddy who did vinyl transfers, he cut it out, I took the speedo apart and sanded the old lettering off touched it up with some body filler and painted it matte black. I used a set of leds aimed at the speedo to illuminate it at night.

i have to say i was amazed when i first got the aspire and it could hit 90 lol....i could barely hit 80 in the festiva....going downhill in a strong tailwind

best bet would be to use aftermarket gauges. i know one guy on here used autometers mounted in an aluminum(i think) panel. didn't look too bad if you ask me. and usefull after an engine swap too lol

                  RX-7

I am using a 91? RX-7 Dash cluster, the speedo cable hooks right up, but it has to be rewired for the festy harness, I have to wait till I get my BP in to get the speedo calibrated right though. I also have a mazda miata cluster I wanted to use, but the cable is different and I don't know if I can get one off from a protege that will fit.

                  The Rx-7 goes to 135 I think.

Aside from the wiring, are any ofter mids necessary to install the RX-7 cluster?

The RX-7 steering wheel bolted on my Festy with no problems...

The European cluster goes up to 160 km/hour (100 mph).
I've had the needle buried on the original cluster numerous times... bu don't tell anyone OK

My speedo has been buried so many times that it actually wore a groove into the front piece of plastic with the needle.

Doesn't it throw off the calibration when you do that?
