  • question about 15's wheels

My friend is selling me his rim. It's 15x6.5 +43.. will this fit the festiva? will it have a rubbing problem?
The reason i am asking is the rim is in so-cal and i am here in no-cal.. and i just want to make before i say yes to him..

    thanks in advance..

that'd be a no-go on those rims, you'll be hitting the strut tube....

what will be the best offsets for the 15's?

My original plan is to 14's on the festiva.. Also what is the good offset for the 14's?

      thanks for the reply..

The offset has little (or nothing) to do with the height of the wheel. It is related to the width. So, how wide do you want to go? Also, how wide/tall tires are you planning on using? Then worry about the offset to center that wheel in the wheel well.

i'm currently running a 14x6 rim with 35mm offset and 185/60/14 tires. i woudn't have any rubbing if i used aspire rear shocks (touches rear spring perch durring hard cornering). you'd ba able to get 14x6 w/ 38mm ofset as well (easier to find than the 35mm).

The only problem with 38mm offset there is that it would put you 3mm closer to the already rubbing perch. I guess with the aspire strut casing that wouldn't be a problem.

so if i use a 14x6 w +30mm then i will not have any rubbing to the perch.. i am correct? but then i might have a rubbing problem on the fender.. please correct if i'm wrong..

I run 195/45/15's I did have on 195/50/15's for a long while. The rims are a 35mm offset, and for the rears I had to buy a cheap set of spacers to help move them out enough away from the struts because of rubbing. I do not have any wear problems on the back since the spacers. My car is also lowers about 1 1/2" inches.

sorry, allow me to correct myself, the rubbing i speak of is from the tire itself (flex), NOT the rim. there's plenty of room at the rim, you'd just need to run a lower profile tire (185/55/14).

On my festi I use 15x6½ RTX Falcon 38 mm offset with Kumho ECSTA Supra 712 195/45R15. On the back I use coil spring spreader (to prevent rubbing and to make it harder) and 1/4" spacer. I also have KYB GR-2 front & rear strut and FMS coil spring drop 35 mm. I did not have any problems or rubbing.
