I am sure 15's would fit because your spare tire most likley is a 15.

Hyundai aquired Kia in 1998, so proliferation of Hyundai engineering (hacked-up Mitsubishi) didn't really occur for 3 or 4 years. So Kia's Mazda based parts continued relatively unchanged till about '01-'02

It's possible the front brake change in model year '02 was due to some consolidation of parts between the two makes.

No, probably not. I found a Kia Forum site and here is one thread:

One guy says the only difference between the first Rio hubs and the late '02 model is that the lug bolts changed to lug studs.

          We shall see.

I am very interested to see if Rio rotors will bolt onto Aspire Hubs, if it's possible i'll be ordering some new parts

            1988 323 Station Wagon - KLG4 swapped
            1988 323 GT - B6T Powered
2008 Ford Escape - Rollover Survivor

1990 Festiva - First Ever Completed KLZE swap (SOLD)

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

it almost seems like this is one of those situations where you need to try it out

so would it be worth while for me (since i have the aspire swap on my car) to buy a rotor for a Rio and see if it will bolt on to my car?

worst case senerio is i have to return the rotor and get my money back

does the rio knuckle have the same goofy bearing setup as the aspire/festiva ?

                        to answer your question, yes.

                        Now, I have a question.

Why does everyone think this bearing configuration is goofy?

Taper roller bearing require a certain amount of preload to operate correctly. The select-fit shim configuration is the most reliable method to set preload. While it is an inconvienience to us while replacing the bearings, I really wouldn't call it goofy. I'm guessing noone here has rebuilt Dana axles? The light duty axles use a crush sleeve (same as Ford and GM, Stirling Axle and American Axle), but the heavier duty axles, like the 60, 80, 90, S110 and S135, use select-fit shims. Ok, I'm done my rant...

Yeah I agree Jim, I guess everyone just has there own preferences but I am sorta partial to these bearings, oh well.

Hey, I don't know if this is the right place to post this, but how hard is the swap from the festiva to the aspire/rio setup. What is involved...?

well the aspire is a direct bolt up, you use festiva lower control arms/ ball joints and you use aspire/323 tie rod ends.

I prefer an easier setup to deal with, and have no clue how to change these bearings
