STEERING RACKS found! -Rebuilt and like new

But Detroit Axle (at least for now) has both Steering Racks and Tie Rod Ends
The racks are $162 and tie rod ends are $22 for a pair

I just got the complete set and am waiting for the tie rod ends to get here in a few days

Make sure the inner tie rod ends are the correct length. I ordered one of those a year or so ago and they were longer that the ones on my Festiva.
Seems like I just sawed them off a little a the end and was still able to thread and adjust my outer tie rod ends ok. (or I may have changed the inners for Festiva ones.. my mind is not sure.)

Yeah, from what Ben at TheFestivaStore.com was telling me is that someone is building the Festiva rack with Aspire innards which is causing them to be too long. It is easy enough to just trim them like stated above.

Thanks for the alert. I was planning to pull the old one without removing the tie rod ends so that I could match the length until I get it aligned
This also has me thinking about how to give it a wider stance

If you are trying to go wider, the Aspire LCAs are about 10mm longer if that helps any.

That's interesting. I bet it has to have the same width of engine bay, so that points (maybe) to longer radius arms and a wider sway bar
If true, it should widen a Festiva by some amount, and the axles from the Aspire would also be needed

~ My interest here is in generating a bit more tire room on the inside of the tire

I can't recall exactly but Aspire axles may have a different spline count than the Festiva.

It looks like the only ones that have a useful width advantage are the 323f

But are fiestas wider? I saw nothing about them

Can someone tell me what the suffixes E,F and G are referring to in the chart about axle spline counts?

Transmission type. the festiva and aspire came with an e series transmission, this is the weakest transmission that bolts to a mazda b series engine. The g is the strongest and f is right in between. Hope that helps.
