rear disc brakes?

When you are really stopping a car most of the weight transfers forward off of the rear tires any how and then you add sticky tires and bigger front brakes it makes it just that much more pronounced especially when you start off with a car that is this short with a relatively high center of gravity. It just doesn't seem that it would make much difference on a car where almost 75% of its weight already lies on the front tires when it is sitting still. Ohh well I am doing it anyways on my track day Festical, the drums look shirty in side of my wheels.

I know it goes against my beliefs, but I can admit that the only reason I would want rear disks is FO SHO. Drums look so plain.

same here... that and if my fronts ever go out (with my rusty a$$ festiva this is highly likely...) my backs are always plenty capable of stopping me :wink:

Anyone know how these rear disc brakes did? I've searched a few times tonight but cant figure it out. Got an extra EGT that I can pirate the brakes off of so I was trying to figure stuff out. Any help would be nice.

It's such a small car, rear disks seem a bit excessive. If it were a mid-engine SHOgun, there'd be more weight in the back... maybe rear disks would be worth it. OR if you are rallying--- it may be worth it when your two front wheels are in the air and you need to brake

I am interested as well, and looked into it a bit. Never thought about VW... I'm in the process getting parts for my aspire swap, and I still need rear suspension. Maybe i just get VW stuff... Oh if there were only pictures...

not that i know anything thing about brake swaps yet (still waiting for a light weight wheel and tire combo that is a known fit) but i just wanted to know how far off would a Suzuki swift gt swap be?? i think they have a indy rear setup but if there is a will there is a way.. what about an independent rear setup for a festy??

you probably wont ever see anything from a suzuki swift swapped onto a festiva, just because its a suzuki :-) Unless you do it your self.
