I was waiting on you to chime in Monsoon :p. I have read every post on this website regarding tires/rims and I think I'm on overload. You've had some great advice & funny freakin comments. I really like the 185/60/13's and due to cost want to stay with the 4x114.3 so I guess the wheel size would be 13x5 to 13x6 with an offset of .38 to .44. If I've learned myself anything it's that this combination should fit with no mods. If I'm right tell me to shut up and move on .

i am assuming you want to get tires locally, and not on the net. Someone already posted www.onlinetires.com that is where I plan to get my tires, very reasonable on shipping as well. As for wheels, what you have stated sounds right. I am looking for Estrella's by American racing, there is another choice as well. They are the U.S. Wheel modular..they sell them at Summit. Here a link to a guy that is selling the "kit".

I'm just including it so you can see what the car looks like...not an endorsement to buy from him, by any means. I saw the car in person...wheels are pretty slick on it, just heavier than I wanted. Hope this helps.

Well everyone has pretty much chimed in on what would fit. An offset of 38 to 44 would be about right. You could go to a 14 and find rims that had both 4 bolt patterns. That way in the future if you decided to do the Aspire swap you wouldnt have to get new rims. You could go with a 185/60-14 those are plentiful and ALOT more reasonable than 195/45-14s. If there were a drawback to them its that the speedo will be off about -4.5 MPH. Theres a couple of the guys here that run that size and dont have any issues with them.

I had them on my car 185/60/14 and they rubbed the inner fender at times....if you are running a Capri rim the will rub the strut in the back , all the time, and the speedo was not off that much more like 2.5 to 3 from what I remember. I have a gps that showed my speed and I was surprised it was not off that bad. I have mazda alloys from a 323 that are 14" and bolt to the Festy pattern. I have to get them redone and on my car. But I wanted to find a more appropiate tire if I can...if not I will run the 185/60's. They leave you a little slow on take off because of the bigger diameter.

Ian, those look great. I had seen your pics before but didn't realize those were 13's. I will keep looking for the Mazda 13's. Everything I've seen in JY's thus far have been 14's. Great looking car BTW.

i had 165/60/14s on my motegi rims when i first got them and the rubbed the rear spring at almost every bump i hit. if i had more then just me they would catch the fender also. but then again my suspension was almost shot then so that could have been why.
in wet weather the toyos still grip really well. i got the 195/45s an have not hydroplaned even hitting a puddle at over close to 60mph.

Am I the only person on this site that is, or has been, dazed and confused by tire size issues????

Pfft! Hardly. Even reading the rim chart is a tad confusing. And then there are always some rims that come up that were/are not on that list but will work on the Festiva. Hopefully it wont be so bad with 13s and 14s as far as finding them in the future compared to 12s. But ALL the small cars coming out now have 15" or larger tires on them.

BigWheel.... Have you tried "Sears" by chance? Their website shows 14 possible for 175/70-13. Hope this helps.

I have and knew that the Mazda were 4x100. Basically the car I bought needed work and I knew that going in so when I change tires I really need to limit the cost if possible. That's why I'm trying to stay with the 114.3. I have been looking at going with steel wheels, painting them glossy black, using a chrome center piece to offset the bright red. That said I can be swayed. Are you looking to sell your subaru wheels? If so what's your asking price?
                              Hey Big,
I run 13x5 Colt wheels with 165r70 13 Hercules tires on my 93GL. Never a problem, but if you want some alloys new @ $65 each, check these out.

Scoll down till you see the Highlighted wheel, its the size you're looking for.

I know it has been done many times by many people already and the tires "should" always be plentiful.
