    I know I'm a little late on this but I think it would be a good idea. I've been thinking about thisbmod lately too. What if you just used the steering knuckles off the front and fabricated a control arm system off of that? Then you would have use of the front struts, and rear disc brakes. Just a thought on what was on my mind.

        Yeah I had the thought of independent suspension, so I searched it and found this. It wadnt what I hoped but maybe it will spark new interest

          It's pretty much proven that the good ol twist beam works just fine for performance driving. See advancedynamix.

            If it ain't broke...

            The best handling FWD cars I've ever driven have all had beam rears. It's simple, very light and has an inherent sway control property (which can be easily enhanced).
