I'm getting these wheels: http://www.americanracing.com/wheels...upid=3&page1=5 AR95 with Aspire bolt pattern, in anticipation of the aspire brake swap that I am doing this week..... what size tires for these rims would be ideal, also what size spacers should I get for these wheels, I currently only have the Festiva suspension but I'm looking for a good Aspire suspension swap/ lowered two inches.... any ideas????? I hope I haven't posted this in the wrong section of the sub-forum.....

There is alot of research throughout the forum on wheel sizes. I am running 14x6 wheels with the aspire swap. They are wrapped with 185/60/14 tires, which fit almost perfectly. The car is not lowered, but with stiff enough suspension it could be lowered about 1.5".
The difference though is that I am running 45 offset wheels, no spacers. 35 offset might need 5mm spacers.

I have these same wheels on my Festy, with 185/60x14 tires. But my Estrellas are dual bolt pattern, for both 114 and 100. Before I switched to Aspire rear struts, I had to use 5mm spacers with the Festy rear struts. As an alternative to 5mm spacers, you could grind down the spring perch where it would rub the tire.
No rubbing issues on the front BTW.90 Festy (Larry)--B6M (Matt D. modified B6 head), header, 5-speed, Capri XR2 front brakes, many other little mods

also planning to flare the fenders to account for the rubbing, this plan came after reading the previous posts in this thread, the reason I posted this is so I could get vibe from people with these same wheels and their experiencesLast edited by DrMaxwellEdison; 04-20-2011, 07:12 PM.Andrew Walker

A +35 mm offset wheel is actually 10 mm farther away from the "frame" (or the strut for that matter) than a +45 mm offset wheel (all other measurements being the same). Why would you need spacers with a 35 mm offset wheel then? That doesn't make any sense.Oscar

so would 185/80/14s fit on these wheels without rubbing or should I got 185/70/14s? what's everyone's recommendations? I'm getting ready to place an order for tires and want a good idea for this, I have stock Festiva suspension but will be going to GR2 suspension, what setup did you use Perucho?Last edited by DrMaxwellEdison; 04-21-2011, 09:37 AM.Andrew Walker

also if I go with the GR2 setup, will I have to change my springs and what is a good ratio? I'm also wanting it lowered 1.5-2 inches, so suggestions here would be great too.....Andrew Walker
