    not same

the taper that goes into the steering knuckle is different. Ever so slightly, but is different. It won't seat properly and could cause serious problems

There is a raised ridge on one side of the tie rod end. Whack that with a hammer.

I used the stock Festiva ones and they seem fine. What serious problem could it cause?

I'm not sure what problems could arise, but have the shop swap tie rod ends to your Aspire ones when you get your alignment done. Temporary use of the Festiva ends to get you to the shop should be okay.

"Taper is different" is all I know.

                    taper

The main problem is the different taper. You obviously want that to match the aspire knuckles. Otherwise you will have play and on festy front end, well not good. In extreme situation may develope high speed wobble. Yes you can bolt them in but they won't be tight in the knuckle.
