Yes, those are Simon's old set. And yes they are rebuildable. I think I remember Roger saying some thing about the newer sets were different. And Karl as for comparison of these to KYB supers and FMS springs, I'll let you know I currently have that combo on my car now.

This set is for the Demio dy5w.

Can someone answer the question: What is the relation between the Festiva and the Demio ? Which chassis is compatible?

I believe the Demio is to Mazda what the Avella is to Kia. Questions are, how much of the suspension was changed and how much is "bolt on?"

I doubt it, but it may be similar. Better check for sure first.

                Which Demio exactly?

Is the DEMIO DY5W the correct model to be looking at as far as strut compatibility and fitment for the Festiva?

If so, it seems they offer the Super Compact: http://www.tein.co.jp/e/price_list/scp_mazda.html

And it shows EDFC compatibility which suggests damping adjustability.

Also available is the Basic Compact: http://www.tein.co.jp/e/price_list/bcp_mazda.html

Can anyone confirm this is the corrrect car model please?

from what i have found digging thru part numbers and making a few calls the teins that fit festivas are a "wagon" coilover setup, But I cannot find the original application.

We need some better priced options, right now we have stock gr-2s or the teins, a big jump in ride and price, everything else has to be imported and that makes it really expensive,

We need to find somthing close, avalible and make them work, like a set of Boge turbo gas struts for a vw, the valving would be alot stiffer for a festiva since they are made for alot heavier cars, but for performance they would be great.

Yeah, price is certanly a major consideration with the Festiva. Its hard to justify buying suspension that costs more than the car is worth!

Also, is it perhaps the DW3W/DW5W chassis?

there are some other options on this site for that chassis:

here are some additional options for the DY5W chassis:

So c'mon people which chassis am I looking at here!
