I plan to make my own but would still support anyone who could make it happen for me.
Aspire rear beam at the moment... we're making it happen as quickly as we can!

No need, really. Lancer Evolutions had the same 276/260mm brakes that the Eclipse GSXs, 3000GT Non-VR4's, and premium GVR-4's and Diamante's did. Only the 3000GT and Eclipse were 5 lug though. These brakes are the same size through and through... Mazda and Mitsubishi had a lot in common in terms of braking power and size given they both were building performance cars with 15" wheels in the early 1990s.

As Chris says below, we've found a way to get 294mm tucked under 16's with 4-lug as well. So if by some chance your Festiva needs more overkill than 4-pot calipers and 10.8" rotors, we've got your back hahaha. No hubs, no spindles, no nothing... just lug studs would be all you really need!

Hahahaha you know it, Karl! I'll do the best I can.

If Festivas weighed anything more, it would be a worthwhile pursuit. But honestly, the 4-pot calipers we're working with have so many benefits. Firstly, they're the powerful brakes powering any RX-7 out there from 1988-1995 that doesn't have aftermarket calipers. So, they're powerful and proven. They're also easy to find parts for, and very common in junkyards... at least the FC Turbo variety is. They also say "MAZDA" on em.

I have some rx7 calipers, and I tried to use them but there just wasn't enough room to fit them with the 40mm offset 15s that I'm running. I was using Capri spindles for mock up and several different rotor diameters. I have floating rotors so rotor offset is adjustable with whatever hat I make.I gave up and just used the whole xr2 setup with drilled and slotted rotors. It doesn't seem to fade.

IM LEANING TOWARD VOLVO 240 CALIPERS AT THE MOMENT CAUSE THEY SEEM TO BE THE BEST FIT ON THE ASPIRE KNUCKLE. THEY ARE VERY CHEAP AND HAWK RACE PADS ARE AVAILABLE. THE ONLY DOWN SIDE IT THE DUAL ENTRY CALIPER(THE ONE BRAKE LINE FROM THE MASTER "Y"'S AND HAS 2 LINES ENTERING THE CALIPER)

^ why are you yelling? j/k

I have highly abused my capri XR2 brakes(drilled rotors) and never had a problem. I even had orange blobs dripping from the pads one night after a full brake from 140 mph.

i just wanted to see my rotors glowing.

We'll be doing it with the Aspire setup and larger rotors, and rest assured it'll remedy this issue! But yeah, for sure, the XR2 setup is really really solid and wholly adequate for the majority of Festiva owners out there who don't mind the bolt pattern and rotor changing logistics.

You can always do the "VR4 upgrade" to the capri brakes to get rid of the captured rotor, like I did.

The problem with capri brakes is there is no rear brake upgrade to go with the huge front brakes. I have a rear aspire swap with EGT discs in the back but now I have two bolt patterns. The only other real option is to swap the capri subframe in.

what all is needed to the vr4 swap to the capri?

It's a funny nomer to call it the VR-4... when the most of the Galant's... the 2000 1991 and 1992 Galant VR-4 sedans were the most famous. This model did not come with 266mm rotors, but the larger Lancer Evolution / Diamante / Eclipse/ 3000GT 276mm instead. This is the size and spec that Chris and I are adapting to the four pot calipers... so really, it is ours that should be the VR-4/RX-7/Evo upgrade haha.

We're doing the rear disc swap kits right now also. Once I get my banking paperwork filed in the next week, I'll have liquid assets sufficient to cover the rest of the cost of R+D for producing the rear disc swap brackets and hardware for both Aspire and Festiva swaps. The aspiration is to have a 14" kit from Miata/Escort GT parts using machined worn out drums as hub faces with this new bracket. We will also be doing 15" wheel rear swap kits for the RX-7 hardware.

EDIT: Why no rear disc 13" kit? No need. Anybody running skinny 12's or 13's won't need the brake power beyond what an Aspire drum with refurbished hardware provides. They also probably won't care to spend cash on extra sprung weight that will denigrate fuel economy.

266mm rotors are used so EGT calipers can be used.
