Can't comment on your situation but Kia did retain the asinine business of 21 different pre-load bearing spacers on their own cars after they parted from Ford/Mazda, so maybe the advice you're getting is good. Should this be the case (for Aspire (100 mm wheel stud center) swappers) please let the rest of us know. And good luck!

the knuckle casting determines the spacer used, not the hub itself. so if you use quality replacement bearings, i see no reason why the hubs can't interchange.
