The 92 golf struts are under $60 bucks each, and sometimes you can
get buy 3 get one free for monroe.
The upper mount kits were around $30 for the front and $15 for the back.
I couldn't find new rear spring cushions but two new dog chew toys are
really tough and only $6 bucks each.
I bought 2 new bearing retainers for the front, 20mm and 2 big truck
lift kit washers...1/4" thick and almost 4 inches outside diameter. $10
I bought a new civic 4 inch lowering kit for under $50 on ebay,
I cut the spring seats off the front, I used the orings in the kit to
center the coil overs on the struts, I roughed up the paint on the struts
I used body panel glue from the body shop to glue these in place.
I bought for springs from AFCO out of their garage sale, $30 each,
and did not use the honda lowering springs.

You didn't have to redrill the top hole in the VW front struts, right?
Because you are going with a high lift and didn't need to. Anyone wanting normal height, or lowering, would have to drill new holes. Am I right?
