I see guys bolting on every manner of wheels on Festys but many have the tires flush or exterior of the wheel wells. You'll want a really stiff suspension under those circumstances. The 175/70-13s I had on last year were marginal for avoiding rubs under load or bumps and they were on 6 inch wide VW rims with 38mm offset. I've gone back to OEM Aspire steelies which are 5 inch wide and with the 165/70-13s on them the car looks virtually stock and the entire wheel well is usable. I see some KIAs and Hyundais with 165-14 wheels that might lend themselves to adapting to Festys. Also seems to me Chev Aveos might have adaptable rims and tires.
You have already switched to 100mm bolt pattern (Aspire/Rio), right?

Yes they are different. The Aspire bolt pattern is 4X100, Festiva is 4X114.3.

but those are expensive. i recomend 165/60/14, easier to find and much cheaper.

Runner: one of the problems Festy owners have in trying to escape from 12 inch tires is that the wheel nut spacing is 4 1/2 inch. This is an uncommon arrangement and will have you searching out specific 60s Ford Mustangs, 80s RX7s and 323s, Nissan Sentras and some Geo/Suzuki stuff from the 90s. This stuff is hit and miss in many respects.
The Aspire 100mm (almost 4 inch) spacing is almost universal amongst small cars from Europe and Asia and has been for decades.

The most common and probably easiest larger stock bolt pattern wheel swap would be 13" rims from a Geo Metro. You might luck out and find a whole set at the 'yard with some decent 155/80s or 175/70s. Those tires are a bit large but usable.

I'm not sure what years, but they'd be 4 X 114.3mm bolt pattern. The ones I had bolted right on with no centerbore issues. Perfect fit; they came on Aqua when I got her:

I think some later Chevy Metros had 4 X 100mm bolt pattern so just watch out for those.

Has anyone tried bolting on a set of anson rims or old mustang 1969 four lug steel rims on a festy ? I got some awesome flat salt flat hub caps i could put on 14 inch rims but idk if the steel rims will give me offset issues ?
