2001 kia rio stripped lug holes

so on my passenger side i have some stripped bolt holes and can't rethread them. Has any one installed studs on these before?

Pictures would be quite helpful here. What exactly did you do to these holes that makes them beyond the repair of a tap and die set?

You could probably try some Chrysler minivan studs, they press in from the backside and have the same thread pitch as Festy bolts, but the base seems wider than the shaft.

yea. i was wondering if you could get some in from the back side. i will go buy some studs and try it on the one wheel. and take lots of pictures.

I have installed studs in stock Festiva hubs, and aspire hubs. You will need to pull the hub out of the bearing in order to get it pulled through. You will also need to drill out the hole to the proper size for the wheel stud your going to use. Honda studs use a huge hole. I work at a Toyota dealership, so I have access to virtually unlimited free wheels studs if I'm willing to wait for a hub bearing to be replaced. The Toyota studs are a good size and length, same thread pitch as Mazda uses. When looking up the studs at the parts desk look them up for a 05 corolla. I don't remember the exact drill bit size needed, I have it written down at work in my tool box, but it will be Tuesday before I can get back to it. I did this job for Spike on his auto car. Very well, indeed! If I hadn't had a drum failure, I'd still have all 16 studs holding strong.

Now only 12 lol (only because I never got around to redrilling and studding).

Stock capri studs are Dorman 610-294
5mm longer studs, same pitch that fit in the same shoulder are Dorman 610-340

Interested to see the results, Kia hubs are available brand new
