Use the mc and booster too. Much better braking when you use the Aspire mc and booster.

Lots of 'Ho hum' being forwarded here.
Aspire swap is primarily advantageous because 1) it uses 4 x 100 bolt pattern wheels (so you can escape from trailer tire sizes), and 2) the front disc brakes are readily serviceable quite unlike the primitive Festy 'garbage' set up. And overall the brakes (front and back) have considerably more surface area and therefore more purchase and longevity when bolted into a Festy.
Far and away the best thing you can ever do to a Festy.

Haha the forum has come along way. I remember when only a few people had aspire swaps and capri brakes where a huge deal. Now it's totally different. People now have had aspire swaps on festivas for yrs. loving it.

Aspire swaps are old news. Now it's Rio swaps.

You can use the festiva MC and brake booster. But get the aspire ones and switch when the festiva ones go bad.
                Use Festiva lca arms.

01 02 rio struts and top hats(2 bolt).

I also try to get the aspire wheels and wheel covers. Don't forget the spare! I like to use Protégé spares there a little bigger and easier to find.

Well sort of. Early Rios are good for front end stuff but doesn't get you an improved rear beam with bigger brakes and 4 x 100 bolt pattern. Nor stiffer rear springs and higher spring perch shocks. Still the easiest, if you're looking to do a thorough upgrade, is to scout out a complete Aspire to scavenge from.

can you combine Aspire front struts with the Rio 2 bolt bearing style hats?

I might be wrong and if I am someone will surely correct me. If I remember correctly what I read the Rio hat has a larger diameter center hole than the Aspire strut shaft. So some type of bushing will be necessary to combine the two.
