If you want insane brakes, get capri xr2 knuckles, and have the hubs machined to accept galant rotors and then you can use your Escort GT calipers. You'll need 15" wheels minimum.

Then get a 1" master cylinder from a 91 929 and a booster from a 96 626...then proceed to throw yourself thru the windshield.

There you have it. The car weight, transmission type, tire diameter and potential use are factored into the design and engineering of the brake system. If you make changes to any of these without changing the brakes to match brake performance will suffer. Likewise if you do nothing to the car but mod the brakes the results may be less than desireable.

Do not get caught up in bigger or stronger is better. Just right is best. Do not forfeit your safety.

The stock brakes in a Festiva, in proper working order are great for all types of driving.
It's that towing that will bite you in the a$$ !

I run aspire brakes so I can still fit a 13 inch wheel with my slicks. lots of stop and lots of go!
