  • drilled and slotted rotors

im thinking about keeping the festiva brake set up but upgrading the parts. like to drilled and sloted rotors and some high performace brake pads. will this be sufficiant for stopping power for a b6t festiva? i have 9 inch drag sliks i am added to the front of the car along with and upgraded front and rear suspention. so just wondering ont this.

The single best thing you can do in terms of upgrading your Festiva's brakes is the Aspire brake swap. Most people find that it is way more than enough. If you want to upgrade from there, slotted rotors. You have to be careful about "drilled" rotors, in case they're actually drilled. A proper "drilled" rotor actually has the hole cast in. Drilling causes stress points within the metal, that can lead to fractures.

Don't waste your money on the Festiva brakes. Even the Aspire's with crappy pads and stock rotors will out brake any Festiva setup. Once again don't waste the money.

I have to agree with that 100%, also theres alot more wheels available for 4X100, something to keep in mind.

The festiva rotors press on from the rear, the aspire screw on from the front. Just that alone is worth the upgrade. Aside from that, your e-brake is actually useful, you have a much more common bolt pattern, and a rear sway bar.

I just got done with my Aspire swap - I still need to bleed them, but the real wrench work is done.

It was so easy and the parts so cheap, I can't imagine any good reason to stick with Festy parts.

I have never swapped to aspire and have one of the fastest car in here,I believe it has to do on your driving style,My brother says he needs tha brake swap,I have never felt the need for it since my driving is not that agressive.I do have the swap on the current Festiva project I bought and will be changing it over to Mextiva.I know it will improve but what im trying to say is if you drive like me you wont need a swap....

Every car I have owned has had a turbo in it, until I bought this latest festiva.. I plan to fix that though.

If you would like a little more, there is also a cross drilled and slotted rotor available for the aspire. it was relatively cheap (300au i think?), and they look good too.
