My wheels are 14" aluminum wheels that came stock on a 1986 Toyota Corolla. I have 185/65R14 tires on it right now that rub whenever I hit a dip in the road. Are these too big? What is the ideal size tire for 14" wheels?

195/45/14, these are the same diameter as stock 12in. Toyo proxes makes a great tire for this, available at Onlinetires.com for about $68 each. -
Did Festiva's really originally come with 165/75R12s? When I first got my car it had 155R12s. I took it to Fleet Farm and they said that they were only allowed to put on what originally came on the car, so they sold me 145R12s.
So I guess my question is what size original tire has the same diameter as the 195/45R14s?5 Festys and counting!!

Get the 195/45/14's. Don't waste time or money on any other size. You'll need a 5.5" rim or wider. the 185/65/14's are too big. I had the same problem.

I can fit 195/55/14 on the miata wheels, if I use spacers in the rear. Get some wheels with about 35 offset(miata is 45) and they should fit fine.OX SMASH!!Comment

This is my car on 195/55/14 with 10mm spacers in the rear. It is lowered on the FMS springs.

185/60/14 will keep your speedo accurate as tested by radar and rolling road.Trees aren't kind to me...

Recheck your speed. There's a 7.09% difference between the stock tires and 185/60/14's.

just outta curiosity why does everyone like going with the skinny little tires all the time?... I love my 205/60/R13s and I'm getting some 185/60/R14s today for my 14" rims... all hail the BIG RUBBER!!! :lol: :lol:No festiva for me ATM...Comment

yes there's a 7.09% differance, but you're compairing the 12s to the 14s assuming that the speedo is accurate with the 12s, and you all know what happens when we assume.... having the tires deliberately smaller improves the EPA mpg estimate and makes a better selling point.Originally posted by mattswabb
