I meant the engine should be badged Mazda...
I won't argue the finer points of classing, but the passage I posted seems to indicate that the engine had to be badged the same as the engine originally available in that model... but anyway.... it doesn't really matter, as most of us put Mazda engines in anyway....
ANYWAY..
I did MUCH MUCH better... I am still waiting for the yahoos to post the times, but I know I moved up considerably, and comparing some times I do remember, it seems like I took off about 4-5 seconds on my runs.
I beat some pretty darned quick cars.
MUCH rubbing... lol... these FMS springs are WAY TOO SOFT for autocross... that's for sure.
I need sway bar bushings, Strut mounts, coil overs, install my camber bolts... other stuff.... LOL..
but for now, I installed a bunch of rubber coil spring spacers, and it effectively raised my spring rates quite a bit. I might put even more of them in on race day. I took her out, with the street tires on, and it handled WAY flatter..
so I think I can keep the fenders off the tires now.
I was AMAZED at the G's I was pulling when the Hoosiers heated up... nearly full throttle through the big sweeper we ALWAYS have on our courses... very very cool... even the big guys were coming over and congratulating me... the president of the club mentioned me at the trophy ceremony... lol... called my times "respectable" lol... getting better, still lots of learning left.. but I do have 11 more races on the calender this year!!!
