  • Did a little suspension work yesterday....put some aspire 4 door front springs cut 2.5 coils up front and festy front springs cut 2 coils in the rear. Now I don't bottom out like I used to in the rear, but it's sitting a little higher than I want. Might cut another half coil out of the rear and see how it sits.

And I just thought this was a cool pic...

It's duplicolor bronze wheel paint. Not sure it would hold up on a valve cover, but you should be able to find a high temp bronze paint

I'd try it, due to the wheels getting hot from the brakes just behind them, but if nothing else, a few coats of flat black engine paint below it might help too.

So, for about the same price as a fully-loaded 1993 Ford Festiva, you could also wield the power to obliterate a small village in the blink of an eye.

That and he effectively increased the downforce of an otherwise immobile wing!

No problem. I'm gonna try a new color on the wheels when the weather gets warm enough to paint....the bronze looks good, but it doesn't have enough "kick" for me

I'm pretty happy with the way it's looking without wetsanding, so I wonder if it's really worth the effort? This is in NO WAY going to be a show car, so it doesn't need to be perfect. I wetsanded one of the fenders and put another coat of paint on it, I'm just not sure I wetsanded it enough. If anyone has any idea please help me out!

Edit: I also put another coat on part of the car that I didn't wetsand at all and I can definitely notice a difference. Still not sure I wetsanded the fender enough before I put that other coat on, but it does look better than the other part of the car
I just did the bottom of my car with this method, I screwed up and didn't put hardener in the first two coats, you don't have to if you wait 24 hours between, but I only waited 4 hours, I didn't wet sand between any of the coats. The third coat I added hardener and it dried in about 4 hours. It still looks pretty good, it is a little orange peely, but not bad at all. I am not going to change it cause it is on the bottom part of the car and isn't that noticable. The upper sections though, I am going to wet sand and hardener to every coat. Are you using the foam rollers, cause that definately makes it go on smoother. I used a 4 inch roller and was the perfect size.

Yeah, I used 4 inch foam rollers, wetsanded between every 2 coats and it came out great. I didn't use any hardener though....mixed my paint about 50/50 with mineral spirits and it would set fast enough to where I was doing 2 coats a day
