    • Is there any sensors on the GTX intake manifold that are not plugged in?

When my coolant temp sensor was not connected, on a fresh start up my car would not rev passed 5500, maybe you have a similar problem??

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

      • are you running an aftermarket blow off valve? is it venting and causing you to run lean or rich? try covering it with somthing so it cant pass air...

I can't see that causing it to not rev passed 2500rpm, especially if its not making boost yet

            • I solve two problem today. I found a vaccum leak (I plug it) and the timing was way off now it's set to 10 BTDC ± 1 DEG but I have the same problem as before the car won't rev over 2500 and won't idle. I've try the 3 wire TPS same thing. I also try running without the turbo I used my old cold air intake and an other VAF same problem.

WHAT IS THIS STUPID PROBLEM ???

              • maybe try to get a vid of what its doing... that may help to hear and see what its doing...

                also any check engine lights?

oooo and, when you swap in a bp26 ecu dont you need to swap around some pins in the harness plug cause they are diffrent from the bp09 ones? are you sure you did that right?

                  • Maxim, try what sasquatch suggested and try your old (non-turbo) BP ecu and see what happens

What fuel pump do you have in your festiva? i don't think fuel pressure would be a problem just revving it like that, but maybe its something to look at?

                    • I will try the BP09 ECU later this week but first I need to remove the dash again and again and again

                      • you don't have to take dash out to get to the ecu. The two bottom bolts hold it in just take them out and pull it and the top half comes with it. That what i did with mine.
Also my old bp swap did the same thing but was never able to figure it out so i can not help on that part. I defiantly check the fuel pressure.

                        • ya just lay in the foot well and look up and you can see the ecu... then unplug it and take out the 2 bolts, then push it up and get it over that little tab at the bottom and pull down... easy... no need to take out the dash...

                              • Salut Max
I've read one of your previous posts, and I would check that you've got the wiring right for your 4-wire TPS. According to the Escort GT wiring diagram, the green-red wire on the TPS goes to the green-red on the VAF, the green-white goes to connector pin C-11 on the ECU, the red-white (which seems like the power wire) goes to connector pin A-18 on the ECU, and the black-white seems to be a ground. The 3-wire TPS' wires don't exactly plug at the same pins on the ECU as the 4-wire; the 3-wire also has a red-white going to pin A-18, but the green-white goes to pin B-19. Since the 4-wire TPS shares a wire with the VAF, it makes me think that they may work together, while the 3-wire TPS shares no wires with the VAF. So make sure the wiring is right and that your TPS is properly adjusted using feeler gauges. If you have any questions I'll be happy to help; I've got the Escort GT and Festiva wiring diagrams at home. And by the way, the wire colors I mentioned are for an Escort GT harness; I don't know if that's what you have or if you're still with the Festiva harness?
