That is honestly where I have to run the line, once my rad is in place, the return line must go where it is,
a hard line is definitely not a bad idea though but there is about 1" clearance between the line and manifold, and remember I will be adding lots of header wrap which will help out lol

Chris, the section of hose that drops down beside your exhaust manifold worries me. Is it possible to drop it down farther, sooner? I'd hate for you to cook your return line and then evacuate your oil supply. I know this is like a weekend DIY'er second guessing a pro, but I was wondering why you chose to run it like you did. Maybe a hard line there instead? Just askin'!Originally posted by Damkid View Post

Spent a couple hours on the festiva tonight and got the motor back in the engine bay

Here's a little bracket i made up to support my oil return line

And as you can see, the return line has a nice downhill slope all the way from the turbo to oil pan

I only have a few more things to tidy up on it and i will be able to fire it up and move it around under its own power again
And for anyone who says my return line will swell up and cause issues, i have a chunk of it sitting in a bucket of oil right now, it's been soaking for 3+ days already and no sign of swelling, i'll be keeping an eye on it to see if i will actually end up having issues or notLast edited by Damkid; 03-05-2012, 09:08 PM.

Since I'm posting in this thread anyway, I might as well say that I'm gunna be picking up some oil tonight and I'll be starting to get the motor back in to fire it up

BTW rockauto sells bulk lines by the foot. The size you want.
Coolant , fuel , oil , name it.

In the pic where the hose levels out, it'll basically go on a slight up hill from there til the turbo, so I should be ok there
With how tight it all is inside the car, I had to keep the return line tight to the block, keep in mind guys that I only have 1/2"-3/4" clearance between the front exhaust pipe and my rad fan, so if my piping/oil lines aren't quite optimal.... Well.... That's just the nature of the beast lol
Later down the road I may add a scavenger pump to the setup, but for now this will get it up and going
