    • Greg, per our conversation earlier about spark plug gap on turbo cars: I re-gapped mine from .025" to .040", and it seemed peppier to my butt dyno. Took it out on the highway and stomped on it, and didn't notice any spark flameout like we talked about. Not really sure it got to 10 PSI tho, due to traffic keeping me busy; I couldn't monitor the boost gauge as well as I wanted to. I will check it again with less traffic. But I like it better this way, and the bigger spark might give me better mileage.

      • stick a bigger/better coil on it (msd or accel come to mind) and you will have even less chance of spark blow out...

                  • Just picked up a nice gen2 B6 cylinder head at the JY today. Valves look to be in very good condition. About 146,000 miles on the odo. Gonna ship if off to Matt D. to do his magic with it, and build me a header while he's at it. I might wait until next Feb to send it to him, when his work schedule slows down, then get it back when the weather gets nice again to install it. If he can get a 60% increase out of it like he did on Matthew, I'm looking at 112 WHP; essentially a BP. But I won't be doing a custom intake, at least not at this point. After that, an F tranny (courtesy of Greg) so I can get a much better clutch, and then a turbo.

                      • The oil pump you used for this build, do you have a part number for it, and a cost new? What kind of hard lines did you use for your oil?

                        • I used a gear drive fuel pump for carb cars, and brake line for the feed and return.

The fuel pump is $80, shipped from summit, and Advance auto sells 20' rolls of brake line

                          • This is the first time I saw this thread. It sure took me a long time to read everything. I am inspired to go to the track. I laughed at that photoshop kitty engine. There is a real Kitty Pride somewhere in the Phillipines. Great writeup.

                            • Any advantage to oil returning in the valve cover, over the oil pan?
