With the light weight and poor traction of a Festiva, I think the F series will more than handle the HP/Tq of a BP. Even the stock E series seems to survive OK unless you really beat on it. Plus, the F series is probably lighter and takes less HP to turn.Brian

its all good, it just means that ill have to build a 3rd haha naw il think ill be satisfied with a bpt. most of you guys are mechanics and i went to art school for graphic design so im just learning all the time from all of you and its great... ill just continue asking q's and researching till i sort out my quarter life crisis

F series is commonly found in the 323 NON-turbo models (88-89), the tranny is pretty much the same size as the G series but uses axles similar but thicker than the festiva axles, so no intermediate shaft
G series is the strongest tranny to put in a festiva, found in the Escort GT's, Capri XR2's, 323 GT's and you need to int shaft from the Capri or 323 in order for it to work

Well after about 9 months I finally have an update. The car is now running. I finished the wiring back in June. Installed the axles in July. Built the exhaust in August. Did the first start up in early September. I am now working on getting the Sport interior installed. I bought this from member FestivaGTX.
I also picked up some inside door handles and window cranks from a '89 Tracer a local J/Y.
