First off I want to thank all those that pioneered the way on these engine swaps and posted their findings, info, pictures, research and solutions to problems here as help and inspiration to others. Without this group I would never have thought I could do something like this.
I got a little behind on starting this thread. I had two other threads related to this car, but instead of having it scattered I will reference those here and have this one be on topic for build updates and progress for anyone wanting to follow. I have a tendency to get busy and forget to pick up the camera, but I'll try to keep it handy.
Here is how it started.
Here is the car I decided to use for the swap as mentioned. I was finally able to get it after three weeks of bad weather. Snow and ice. I wanted to have dry roads because the tow car was my Yellow Festy.
To pick up where the above thread left off, I mentioned the interior was gutted out. I am cleaning and getting ready for the ECU swap. I hate wiring. I wanted to start on the part that I dread the most to get that out of the way. I'll need the excitement and motivation of a new project to get me through it. Did I mention I hate wiring. Well I do. Ha. I'm sure I will need help from time to time on this part.
Here was the interior.
Nasty!
Yay, No rust holes!
New carpet is here and I cant wait to install it. Here is the seat covers.
And finally, the old B3 is outta here!
