I agree with everyone else, you need to run some thicker metal, I am using 3/16th" steel and its held up to its fair amount of abuse. Im using a stock EGT mount and I got the steel from a metal supply warehouse about an hour from my house.

Maxtiva, is that the mount off of the EGT or festiva?
And where did you get that metal bracket?

Im no expert and someone else may say its alright. but that piece of angle iron youre using looks a little too thin for what youre trying to do and the torque it may experience. Personally Id go to 1/4" thick myself. Maybe 3/8" if itd fit OK. But thats me.

How thick/strong is that metal you are using for the no weld side mount?

did you use the EGT mount or the Festiva one?

I got this pic today of the side mount. It still needs some tweaking to get another bolt in.

I will get good pics when I pull it back out. When I dropped it in I had the stock rear EGT mount on the trans. I could see that the whole engine needed to go back about an inch or more. Instead of modding or making a new bracket, I used the stock EGT bracket and mount. I just took the cross member down, drilled the spot welds on the perch and moved it back 1 1/4". also moved it to the left 1/4".

Thanks for the offer of the harness WES. I did find one today. There are two festys at a yard here in town.
