  • Sounds like some good progress,
    1. what was your track time?
    2. any luck on your check engine light? maybe yours and mine are related some how considering we basically did the same thing, with minor differences to the engine.

      • with the crap exhaust that i have on it, slipping clutch and a very bad launch (to much wheel spin) it still managed to get a 15.8

        the car infront of me when the vid starts is grocery getter and his festiva that thing is so crazy fast i love it i was racing a 13 sec porsche somthing...

        first time racing the festiva with the bp swap done :) the exhaust is still the stock festiva pipe and is WAY to small for the 1.8L motor :( so as soon as i ...


        i think the CEL is the o2 sensor i put in... i took one of my old ones and i cant remember if its a bad one or not... every time the CEL comes on it runs a bit lean so im thinking its the o2 sensor...


        here is a good laugh... watch this vid the watch the one above it and see how much better the bp is than the b3 lol

        slow but fun :D ill get some good times when i do my b6t swap :D but for now the b3 does the job :D

        • this time when i was at the drags i had my hood open for the first time, everyone was looking at my motor


          got the new exhaust a few days ago for when i do the turbo i still need to buy a 180 and a 90 for the down pipe and then some WG piping...


          ooo ya, and its MASSIVE 3 inch thats a spray paint can :shock:



          photo shoot i chopped the braces out of the hood to make it look nicer on the bottom but i didnt have any black paint i dont know if i like it in white but it seams to make the engine bay brighter




          and i know the exhaust is messed up... its the only muffler i had laying around that fit...

              i also have one other problem... when i start it in the morning it revs up to 2000 rpm and wont go down till its at 150F water temp.... and it will only go down to 1000 rpm when its warm(180)... shouldnt it be 700rpm? ooo and my vacuum is only 17in shouldnt it be 20in? so im thinking i have a vac leak... dose that sound like its the problem?

                  • I have an autometer too and mine reads 10 in/hg at idle. Good times too mike. Casper all gutted out with motor work done only runs 15.5's

                      Ours does EXACTLY the same. ?? Always happens a few days after resetting the idle?

                        10''? I was getting 20" at idle but after resetting the exh cam timing and setting the dist by ear I'm pulling 18" at idle. What is your base timing greg? I'll be checking and setting mine with a light tomorrow.

                        Vac at idle can vary based on ign timing, idle speed, and how the vaf is set.

                          My base timing is 4* btdc. I do not have my ics hooked up so i turned the screw in the TB to "up" the idle. I'm getting my Megasquirt (hopefully it'll arrive tomorrow) ,so I'll have more control of Everything.

                            • ok after thinking about it for a while, im gonna buy a megasquirt kit im tired of dealing with that stupid VAF... hello MS, bye bye VAF also i like how i can tune the motor and the cool thing is that LEX on CP.com lives under a hour away from me

                              ooo and i also forgot.... i went out and got a BUNCH of b6t stuff FOR FREE yesterday i got a wack load of stuff like a b6t gtx motor - the block, turbo and "good"/"useable" pistons lol, festiva trans, 2 flywheels, box of relays/switches and stuff, i still havnt gone thru everything but there is alot of good stuff in there
