I have 2 swapped festivas in my immediate future. One is a 93 GL that is my DD. It will have a B6T mated to a built up auto trans. Theoretically it should be better/faster than a festiva 5 speed trans because of gearing (less tire spin). The second is an 88 LX that is getting a BP. It's a long story I'll try to keep short. Skeeter's keeper Nate was running the show on a BP/G25mr swap into an 88 LX. We were mostly done when I scored another BP swapped 88 LX with a dead engine. The wiring, frame rail rust, and no A.C. were the 3 things that made me decide to swap into the new dead festiva. Finally got some time this past week. The dead engine and festiva trans are out of the new 88 LX. The Good BP/G25mr is back out of the old 88 LX and is being test fitted into the new. This was a running swapped car so the wiring is known working (if a little jack leg). We have everything we need. My dad and Jack (festar and Fessup) are running the show. I'm trying to keep up and do as much as I can.
Good BP/G25MR still in the old 88LX with the unfinished wiring.
Out with the bad BP and festiva trans.
The good BP/G25MR test fitted in the new 88LX
We boxed the frame rail on both sides so the trans and AC compressor will both fit! I can't pull it off. My crew is unwilling to pull of anything other than a running BP/G25MR swap. But my goal is to get the ac, Cruise control, power in roof sunroof from the EGT all working and get the battery in the engine compartment. We have a totally new engine trans mount designed (courtesy of Jack) and are in the process of making that work.
Wish us luck!
