Started off today running 80 miles to get the capri hubs. Was up there for a while because they thought they already had them pulled, and didnt.

They had four capris, three were xr2's. One was identical to mine. There was an auto festy as well, pretty well gutted. Nasty looking auto tranny sitting in the back.
They wanted $350 for the trans, $500 for a capri engine, and $400 for a capri trans.... lol. They had a decent looking EGT there too, I would imagine similar prices for that stuff.

Anyway, took my knuckles (yep they gave me the whole knuckle minus caliper). Down to my machine shop and had a mix of good parts from my capri and the junkyard parts put together. Paid $60 for the pair of knuckles and $30 to have it put together. One big thing done.

My dad and I finally got the rear trans mount done. Its the capri mount all the way. Cut the top part off the rubber mount, the part with the stud sticking up. Then cut the little part off the bracket and its welded to the rubber mount. I'll try to get some pics of it before all is done. Hopefully we can get the front mount figured out soon so I can put the trans and engine back together with my new clutch...

Finally got the trans mounted. Rear mount is as described above. Front mount is the capri round mount, moved forward a bit, with angle connecting it to the trans.

Might need to grind a bit on the steering rack. Its pretty solid though. I couldn't wiggle it front to rear.

Ill try to get a pic of the rear when it comes back out to be fully welded.

            It ran! On starting fluid...

Still gotta rig up an intake. Then figure out the radiator.... no idea where thats going.

Oh yeah my drivers side control arm bolt stripped in the caged nut... joy.

Yea... I'm more digging the cartridge fuses pulled right out of the Capri that perfectly replace the fuse links. They sure look better than your speaker wire.

                Also note coil mounting.

Congrats! Nice work That sucks about the caged nut, never had that happen on any my good festivas but it happened on one of my parts cars.

Yea its gonna be a trip...

I had it run on starting fluid, but it wouldn't so much as sputter on its own. I have spark from the coil and pressure at the fuel rail...

Well from the pictures you don't have the intake plumbing or VAF hooked up so that could be one possibility:p

I had the vaf shoved on the the intake pipe, bypassing the Turbo... it shoulda worked.

                          And.....

                          tada

I think Im gonna end up moving the battery to the back, maybe the passenger side if I can make that work. Theres just no room for EVERYTHING on the drivers side, radiator, intake, battery... etc.

Think Im gonna go for that, and run some 2 or 4 awg to the front. Ill put a big fat fuse at the battery and maybe one of those fancy distribution blocks at the other end.

There, freed up some space up front. 4awg from the battery to the starter, and replaced the little black wire going to the main fuse with the equivalent from the capri harness, the red wire you see. Thats also going to the starter. That wire and the battery wire are both crimped together into a 1/0 ring connector which goes right on the starter lug.
