so progress has contuined but i lack pictures, aaron and his dad got the rear end almost buttoned up and read to go, just need to fix the ebrake and make a plate for the bolt for the sturt other then that its going to be ready to go, the front is giving him a hard time he lost a bolt for the lca and the sturt tower bolt is stripped, after that he's hoping to get the car on the ground and set his stance (hoping to be tucking the 14's on it) other then that we need to have the dp fixed, and i think aaron might have a custom 3" exhaust made for when he goes v6 kdle with spray

Sweet build Did you take it around the block to try it out before you started removing the suspension?
If a hammer doesn't fix it you have an electrical problem

Ok there is an update to my car. I messed up my turbo a few days after Nerd racing and my father rebuilt it because I'm an idiot, so I decided to change the setup so it will be better suited for autocross.
Here's how the car sat for the last couple months

Then it got pushed back into the garage to be torn apart

Picked up a BP with 138k from an auto EGT at the junkyard

                Motor is out

There hasn't been much progress in the last few days since I'm still waiting to find a g series and make mounts. In the meantime I'm trying to wire the harness and make the 4 wire TPS work as well as gather the other parts I need.

Yea eventually I plan to do a rebuild on the motor with boost in mind and I'll be collecting parts over the next year for it. My main concern right now is getting the swap done and getting it running good with the suspension setup.

                    • No real progress but I did window weld the mounts, I probably wont be using the rear and doing the eurotiva rear mount. There not pretty but form > function here

I also acquired a new waterpump, timing belt, tensioners, valve cover gasket and thermostat to replace while the motor is out.

Also, I figured out that if I email my gf and parents direct links to parts that I'll get awesome car parts for Christmas.

                          • This thread starts from before my time on this site. Has this car ever been on the road in the past 2 years? I enjoy tinkering but like driving even more so. I'm guessing you guys are much the same.

                            • Yea it was on the road but not very often. First the turbo roasted the stock clutch, then the clutch got replaced and then the rear brake lines went and a massive coolant leak at the throttle body started. A day after it was fixed I took it to fall Ohiostiva and on the way the turbo started blowing tons of oil out the exhaust from not having the right restricter on it. I got home and the next day I went to go to my parents and the pinch bolt on the passenger lower control arm came loose and let go 30 seconds from my house and that damaged the trans. Nerdracing and my father rebuilt the turbo then I wanted to clock it so it would be easier to route the IC piping and like an idiot I dropped it on the hot side compressor wheel and became unintrested in working on it. Yea I know these things could have been fixed easily in the last two years but I work slowly and was distracted by my prelude all last winter and a large portion of this summer and the festiva just sat in the garage. This summer I bought a brand new Mazda 2 and started autocrossing it and became instantly hooked but decided I didn't want to keep thrashing on my brand new car and decided that the festiva would be a dedicated autox car that's still streetable no matter how uncofortable it will be. Yea I'd rather be driving it than tinkering but things happen and I had my prelude and 2 to thrash on so I wasn't really missing the car but now I can't wait to be back behind the wheel slamming gears
