    ok im trying to keep up but my carb is killing me i get 33 all the time and its driving me crazy. forinfo i got 40 before i bought a new engine and upgraded to a 5 speed and full sythetic oil??????????? thinking about ripping my 93 apart and getting the goods for efi but gawd thats alot of work.

      weather will do this to you. take advantage of the cooler air and add 3-4* of base timing for ignition. what jets are you using and what's your idle air bleed screw set at?

            oh i dont know about jets i still have the stock carb and did a rebuild on it a while back got the timeing right and everything and then it just went to crap again. i hate that thing. but efi is so involved

              ok, well you can still add in the timing till warmer weather hits. also, since your using your factory carb, have you replaced the o2 sensor? if not, get a Denso unit. also have you learned to read spark plugs? another step you can try is hit the ABC valve with some PB Blast overnight (it may be sticking).

                ill def look into that. what do you think about the efi deal? i have all the parts in my 93 cept the sending unit and pump

                  use an inline pump if you want to switch, that way you don't have to touch the tank. like THIS

                    i just keep hearing mid 30's with carbs and upper 40's to low 50's efi. any truth to that

                      nope.... both can see the better part of 40mpg on any given day, but the carbs are more suceptible to climate change and since there are more parts involved, there's more that can go wrong with them.

                              This is a side view of the modded throttle. As you can see I used and welded on the old throttle mount and had to fabricate a new throttle cable bracket.
