So, this is the build thread for my Festiva. Here I'll document my Festiva's hopeful transformation into a decent autocross vehicle.
My first Festy. 1990 L PLUS. 5 speed. 54,000 miles. New radiator. Pretty decently rust free considering it's lived its life in the rust belt and around here the roads are usually whiter from salt than they are from snow.
It has been in some fendor benders in its life. The rear corner was dented in and the previous owner drilled some holes and pulled it out, so I'll have to deal with that.
The front looks good from the outside, but underneath its a bit bent up. I think i can get it close to how its should be without too much trouble.
I've been hanging around on fordfestiva.com for a while now, but I finally found myself one. I've always really liked Festivas. I think I was mainly influenced by a friend of my family's having a fully ITD prepped racecar festiva. I figured now is the time to get this project started. I've wanted a manual car to work on my manual driving and Festys are cheap, relatively sporty, and good on MPG(as opposed to my '11 Tacoma).
Goal:
Transform it into primarily a SOLO car. Aiming for some modified class in the future(I need to do a little more research before I pick one). Want it to still be streetable enough to drive around.
