The 2 trannies are the same size but are clocked slightly different, at least that is what I am told. I didn't have to build a special bracket for the midshaft like alot of guys say is necessary. I put washers behind the midshaft to bring it away from the block till it rotated freely and I was good to go. I think it was 2 or 3 washers on the top bolt and and 1 on each bottom bolt.

I have yet to see 2 installs that are the same. Since the mounts aren't all built in the same jig, they are all slightly different.

lol, your car held up well for having 2 passengers in it. The stock festiva airbox really held me back. My adapter was in the mail when I got home, so I am ready for a rematch. Also I need plugs and wires as I did not replace those when I did the swap, and I wouldn't be surprised if the original plugs are in it. I am just happy it ran fine driving down there and back, now I can work on the little stuff.

Got my new air filter installed. This should flow alot better than the stock festiva airbox I had to use while I was waiting for this to show up.

Me likes the air intake! What size?

The air inlet for the filter is 3" and according to the manufacturer the rest of it is:

Stands Roughly around 6" base diameter and 2.75" height from base skirt to screw

The style is mushroom: I didn't want to have to try to shove a cone filter in there.

I don't like the look of the intake pipe, so I will be looking at finding something shiny to replace it with. Also want it to end up more behind the headlight.

Only bad thing abou those foam filters is they break down and fall apart into your motor. Ask me how I know lol

Yep, the stock one cracked and I haven't gotten a replacement yet.

Put new plugs and wires in last night. Also fixed my intake piping yesterday when I got home...

Also here are some shots of my exhaust manifold to show clearance. It really isn't near anything so I don't what specifically you were looking for clearance between.

The top of the manifold is below the bottom of the upper radiator support beam.

On your new intake pipe. First off where did you get it? And also I see what you did with the valve cover breather but what did you do with the other 1 inch hose that went on the big square black box right after the afm ?

The pipe is just some pipe I had laying around from when I did the intake on my mx-3. I think it is part of cold air intake for a honda. The 1 inch hose, I deleted it. The sensor on the bottom of the throttle body has been acting up on me and causing a really high idle. I just capped it at the throttle body. My idle is much better without it. A little low when it is cold, it wants to die. I just keep giving it a little throttle and it is ok. I tried swapping it to another one I had laying around, but that one is bad too.

Intake pipe looks really good! That's exactly the kind of shot I was hoping for, trying to imagine how much clearance there is there, and I didn't know if the header ended up higher flush with the radiator support or not. I guess it would depend on the tranny mounts, but that definately helps give me a general idea. Hope I'll be seeing something similar to that soon myself. I was debating on making my own exhaust manifold, the cheap ebay ones crack easy, but I'm not paying 400$ for an exhaust manifold -.-

I ran into the radiator clearance problem last night. Are there any easy steps with this swap ?? :banghead: I now know why you see unfinished projects for sale.
