  • $460 festiva to run in Lemons

This project has started back in May 2011 with a craiglist ad "Festiva for $1000, needs a fuel pump"

So, 10am in the morning I have picked a fuel pump at a jy and hour hours later I saw this piece of red metal, sitting on flat tires behind a barn in the center of Illinois.

Got it for $460 - at that point it was running with my fuel pump and without its own battery.

10pm, after one cop pull over (for improper towing - they have sold me the car with zero gas in it!!!) and three stops to add coolant, I was at home.

Does anyone have a crack in the block which will let coolant out, at a speed of half a gallon per 30 minutes?

Anyway, 1st and 2nd mods were aspire mirrors and aspire front brake swap

I have messed up the original gearbox, this took some time to fix but car finally runs with BP and aspire transmission. Header is not yet attached to the exhaust and idle is crazy high, but the car runs and nothing can change that.

Someone has pulled an engine off an escort gt but left this header, that was quite a score in a junk yard I think (is this stock 95 EGT header by the way?)

Interior was taken out a while ago:

Cage build takes all my time now

I've found today that 93+ escorts have stock oil coolers. Will try putting one on my 91 engine tomorrow.

Should be easy, if its like the b6T one all you need is the cooler, some hose, hose clamps, and the extended threaded tube for the oil filter to screw onto.

Victory Auto Wreckers is not the nicest junk yard - cars are simply sitting in mud, sometime with not much space between them. But their "all of the parts that you can carry with your hands" for $49 deal which they run couple times a year is sweeeet.

Scored both full kio rio corners and full set of xr2 shafts.

Today we put the new racing tires on for the 1st time. 205/50r15. Things did not go perfectly well - fronts got rubbed by the fender, and the LCA has popped out of the spindle. Which was a surprise - I was under an impression that the bolt on the spindle holds the LCA ball joint...

Anyway, going to cut a bit off the fender tomorrow.

Nice. I always seem to miss Victory's "all you can carry" sales.

I know you're doing lemons, but do you plan on doing any Autocrosses too? It'd be neat to see another festiva at an event.
