Rear tranny mount fab. The first picture is the stock mounts, the bottom one is the EGT. I cut the part that bolts to the tranny off of both mounts and combined them in the bottom picture for a new hybrid mount. Will it work ? Beats me, looks like it should. It can be adjusted some prior to welding.

I'm following this all the way...everything looks great!
Thanks for the Steve Earle link...Copperhead Road.
I'd recommend leaving the front cover off the engine. I run without them on all my OHC motors, even my econo Metro. The advantages are manys, and the draw backs few. My Suzuki was the 1st to lose it's cover about 10 years ago. I've never had any problem. An immediate visual inspect of the cam belt far out weighs the risk of debris getting in there. Leaks can be tracked. One less step in any maintenance. And it looks super cool! Especially on a DOHC. You might have to fab a timing degree set up, if you plan on using a timing light. I can never read stock timing tabs anyway, and haven't used a timing light on my OHC motors.
Note To Zoom Zoom: I fell for the temptation on the Harbor Freight sandblaster. It requires a much larger compressor than advertised. All sand blasters are this way. The ceramic tip wears from the material going thru and the air flow goes way up. It makes a huge mess where ever you use it. It does work though, if you have access to 12CFM @ 50psi compressor.'88 Festiva L, stock carby engine (with exhaust upgrade), 4 speed tranny. From my experience most newer Mazda's have the ECU in behind the centre console under the dash, I'd look there first
BTW fresh, the build is looking awesome!!
