Latest update:

A couple of days ago I went out to "put the interior back in ". Then I noticed my front window defrost vents were in bad condition. Also I recalled that Redford had a couple of defects on its dash. So I ended up removing the dash from my whole parts car for a dash swap.












UNfortunately after I got the new dash out I found out that the PO had cut off all the original stereo plugs to splice in some other Ford radio. So that meant doing a dash wireing swap from the old dash to the new dash. I did use the opportunity to install a wire harness for a dash clock. Also added some other options while reinstalling the dash.

New pedal covers, variable speed intermittent wiper switch, NOS af/fm stereo, dash clock, etc.








Had to switch VIN too.

I want your bezel!! I won an orange lettered clock at Ohiostiva but lack the bezel... hmm... I think I'll make something eventually.

Man..I bet fresh could put three or four together with the time and money I've spent on this one..

I wouldnt bet too much !! Im slower than a seven year itch. Mainly cause I end up doing everything three times to get it right. The first two attempts seem to be warm ups for me. If it werent for rework Ive have no work at all.

If i counted up the amount of time i have into re-work with my festiva, i could do another KL swap lol

It takes me at least twice, when I'm lucky. I've been putting off putting the oil pan on for almost 2 weeks now because I can't figure out what this stupid little o ring is for that came with the front end gasket kit! It claims it is for the pickup tube, but that only takes the oval shaped gasket! It's slightly too big around to fit in the pickup tube itself? ..

Yeah, but you went where no man has gone before. My swap is routine and Ive had advise from people who've been there. No way man, Im the slowest !! :p

10-4 on the air cleaner, as close as possible to the 'nose point'.

I'll make another plate, probably Monday, and ship UPS by mid-week.

I've been having OS problems with my computer. There's always a chance it will go down indefinitely.

Todays task is to power wash the carpet. Found a really frayed wire going to the seat belts. Dont know what happened to it but it looked like it had been in a fight.

Pretty solid body on this car, not any rust to speak of. Is that the damaged wire ?? Frayed so.

maybe it got caught in the seat rails and when sliding the seat back and forth it messed it up?

Remove carpet - add bed liner. Screw carpet

Haha frayed so.. hahaha. Ha.. had to think about it for a minute before it clicked..


I would forget that old faded carpet and go for some vintage 70's purple shag carpet, would really make the interior stand out!
