  • My 89' 323 GT

So i decided to start a build thread on my 323 GT, i'm not entirely sure what direction i will go with this thing but for now the goal is for it to be my DD, i've had a build thread going for it on cp.com since i got it and here's the updates i've made on it since

When i got it, it had bad piston rings, basically everytime it builds boost, it pressurized the crank case and pissed oil out everywhere and anywhere it could, so it desperately needed a new B6T

    12-17-2011

So here's a few pics from the day after i brought it home, please excuse how dirty it is, it was raining/snowing on the way home that night

    03-24-2012

So today i picked up another B6T, may decide to change it tomorrow depending how motivated I feel though lol

    03-25-2012

So today i spent a few hours cleaning up my garage and pulled the 323 in the garage to get it ready for surgery

and i had to grab this pic, B6T, 13B & KLDE lol

    3-28-2012

Been working 12 hour shifts this week but got a couple hours on the car tonight and here's how far I got

And most of the parts are swapped over to the new B6T and it's almost ready to go back in, another night and I should have it running again

I gotta say, that was the first time in a very long time that I pulled a FWD motor without the tranny lol I just don't have a proper jack at the moment and didn't feel like pulling the axles lol

    04-12-2012

FINALLY got some time in the garage tonight, i managed to get the last remaining pieces from the old engine onto the new one

And this is how far i got tonight

I bascially need to connect all wires, fuel lines, drop the rad back in, and a few odds and ends here and there and it should be good to fire up, hopefully one more night of working on it and it'll be finished

    1988 323 GT - B6T Powered
2008 Ford Escape - Rollover Survivor

1990 Festiva - First Ever Completed KLZE swap (SOLD)

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

One thing that is very surprising is the trunk space, they have an incredibly huge trunk in them

Chris looks good! i love the GT. I think the Gt would be a good candidate for the rotary swap, there extremely rare as it is and you probably got a little more room to work with!

Id love one as well. a GT and the wagon, made into a GT in every way.

I do craigslist searches for a mazda wagon circa 1987 and i haven't seen one in 2 years.
              1993 GL 5 speed

It's a MazdaFordnKia thing, and you will understand!

I did consider swapping the rotary into it but I don't wanna take it tooo far away from stock, I'm still considering it but I'll play that by ear

Got it fired up tonight it has a bit of a tick from the HLA's but i'm assuming that'll go away after a bit of driving

This is the first start up of my 89' 323 GT, it's just a stock replacement since the old engine had bad rings in it
