So tonight I filled it up with water, but as it was running with the rad cap off, it was overflowing the rad..... This is with a cold engine...... So first thought was thermostat, pulled the thermostat, problem solved for now, then I noticed water dropping from the crank pulley.... Great, now I gotta do a water pump on it, ugh

So today I got the water pump changed and while letting it idle, I looked at the tailpipe and........





I hope it'll clear up but I doubt it, looks like I may have to do a head gasket.... Ugh I should just swap in a KL lol

I'll probably drive it for a short bit as-is to see if it'll clear up (which I doubt) and worst case, I'll pull the head off the old motor, port/polish it, then swap it on when I change the head gasket lol

Got the head off and got it cleaned up, there was two head bolts that came out tooo easy, either they got missed being torqued or they came loose somehow, either way I'm hoping that was the problem lol



So I'm just waiting to get my hands on a torque wrench and I'll get it finished up ASAP

I didn't clean the inside of the head, that's just how I got it lol

Well earlier this week i took the head in to get checked out and they told me it's warped pretty good and would be best to see if i can find another head, but i need a second car on the road ASAP so last night i threw the old head back on it and surprisingly i think it actually sealed up!! i took it for a test drive and it still puffs blue smoke under boost, but overall its a lot better then before

I say just drive it until you can find a miata head or something like that?

That's honestly what I'm thinking too, the other head I'll be getting will be free so I may get it checked and if it's all good, I'll just port/polish it and swap it out later on when I have the time to lol

Put a new alternator belt on it today and took it for a cruise, everything is working pretty good so far, still leaving blue clouds behind it under full boost though lol either way I'm just about confident enough to get a temporary permit for it and start driving it
