HAHAHAHAHAHA love your style!! I'd consider it but I dont think the postage from oz to you for four rims would be wife-opening-the-credit-card-statement friendly...

        Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelllllllllllllll,
since LAST post Ive had a bit of interesting goings on.
SO i was heading out to get myself some carbon cloth and the like when, and i frikkin saw it coming, red and blue lights appear behind me.
Looong story short I was given a work order by the local constabulary.
        A yellow sticker.
A defect notice that if not rectified within TEN days puts my car off the road....................
        They pinned me for;
-turbo timer (apparently not legal, ever, at all)
-blow off valve (not loud, at all, but still apparently not legal, ever, at all)
-loose wiring ( i can take that, i dig it. but no need to be a d*#k about it)
-harness.. (yeah cos fighter pilots and the like use normal car seatbelts cos they're so much safer... please...)
Anyway i was fortunate other items weren't picked up which i will rectify before inspection ie bit of rust, general cleanliness etc..

So yesterday and today ive disabled the turbo timer, removed the blow off valve (sounds weird with out it yet seems to pull a bit better), cleaned up ALL wiring, degreased ancient sludge and I am praying to get a permit for the harness..

In the end i did end up getting my carbon, and kevlar, and aluminiumised glass for future projects on the girl. And a kick-a** spoiler too, pics to come.

Cant wait to unwrap my coilovers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A permit for a SAFER safety device? A boost controller is illegal, and a blow-off valve? I'm glad I live here in that regard. Dude, you were hella profiled. I had the same thing happen to me in my '94 Aspire. Fem cop made me put my hands on the steering wheel since I had a camping hatchet under the spare tire. Bolted down. Under the carpet. Under all my then current belongings. She called for backup! Two cops vs. A skinny little 20-yr old for going through a speed trap. Yep, I'm the vicious inaccessible-hatchet killer, right here! You give me a weapon I can't get to, and you'd better watch out!

Cops... I guess we need 'em...

I still prefer the old 1981 Lasers (with twin carbies).
As a matter of fact. I still have an extra set of Laser carbs + a B3/B6 adapter plate that I will be selling.

I can't speak for all of australia but the state I live in has some of the most draconian laws. And yes I was definately profiled. This state is also known for having the worst drivers and they (the law, state government, the media) is so quick to slam auto enthusiasts.
Im could get carried away here, needless to say the numbers are growing and they'll soon realise we vote too...

A friend of mine says that the cops aren't too concerned with street racing in Australia as long as its out of the city limits.

                    Any truth to this?

The less stereotypes you're running the better. If you look like a boy racer have a pot leaf shirt on, you are going to get hit with everything compared to a balding guy with greasy hands who gave her a rip pulling onto the highway, as if he just got her on the road again. Ive been both guys and getting older isn't that bad when you get out of a citation!

Street racing out of city limits? As long as youre not caught! ANY street racing here is basically deemed urban terrorism. In saying that I tend to do my own thing and refrain from racing others.. Too much can go wrong.

Regards looking the part, my crime was probably my young looks and wearing a cap. And having 17" alloys, and basically being in the right place at the wrong time..

                          Moving on though.
Getting the car inspected next week and used it as an excuse to go shopping. Picked up new cam cover gasket, oil pan gaskets, water pump, timing belt kit, accessory belts, cam seals and will blueprint the oil pump..

                          Oughta do the trick
