the gt2860r is also known as a gt28r. It is standard on several Nissan cars, but nothing that was sold in the U.S. market. It's the stock turbo on an Sr20Det.
The turbine housing was machined by Corksport over a decade ago. I may tool up to perform this modification to IHI turbine housings depending on how this works out. I think I can even improve upon their work and I can also try it on a vj11 turbine housing. The gt2860 exhaust wheel is quite a bit larger than the rhb5 wheel, and thus requires quite a bit of machine work. The compressor is comparable to a Vj20, but with a more modern impeller design and a dual ball bearing cartridge. Corksport used a 60 trim t3 that had a ball bearing center section on their "kit" for the b6t. The corksport turbo was said to spool slightly quicker than the vj14 and also pull past 7500rpm. The gt2860 is a more properly sized turbo for the b6 engine.
