Well, I couldn't help myself. I had to do it.

picked up this 89L on Saturday. She has a few issues, but i drove her to work this morning. She's a carb'd 4 speed. Her name is "babe the blue box"

    More pictures to come.

Damn how many festiva's do you have now?

I'm up to two now as of Saturday too lol

    1988 323 GT - B6T Powered
2008 Ford Escape - Rollover Survivor

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

      Sweeeet. Does it have A/C?

Looks like a candidate for a 5sp swap and a SOHC B6 or B3 build. Mild cam, ported head, header and a Weber, LOL!
Im partial to blue as well. It would make a nice DD or parts chaser for your shop.

No A/C, it has zero options. Arty has talked up the carbed festiva so much that I think I'll just play with the stock engine for awhile. It has no leaks and runs strong. It'll be nice to finally have a Festiva that gets good gas mileage. My two automatic cars get worse mileage than my b6t car. Lol

Factory plastic components are all still flawless with almost 200k miles! No leaks at all. The P.O. didn't clean the engine, this is how I got it, little dusty but no oil anywhere!

So, this car has a lot of valve clatter, is 89 solid lifter by any chance?

Yes! Adjust to .012 hot. 4 at ign timing, other 4 at one crank rotation. Need Haynes to know which ones.
