IM having some difficulties with oil pan gaskets. In all my gasket sets, it only comes RTV and 2 end rubber pieces. What do you guys use? id rather not use RTV. Anyone use a festiva full rubber gasket instead?
I used complete gaskets with RTV on my B6T after the gasket alone leaked on me pretty badly. Either that or just RTV on its own... seems to be holding pretty well thus far.

its super annoying, cause mine did too. I just used the gasket and clean surface and it leaked alot kinda lost on what to do. RTV is just so ugly
I'm getting excited! My intake manifold is being worked on by a friend who is a brilliant fabricator as we speak.
Things to buy:
-Megasquirt
-Fender flares
-Exhaust parts.
and maybe
-Clutch
-Intercooler Couplings/ misc fittings/ Hose
-Catch Can
-Maybe smaller intercooler (mines huge!)
I have from April 18th to April 29th off after my exams, I plan to have this thing pretty close by then.
Things to figure out:
-What distributor to run? My plan is using an EGT one.
-How to wire in megasquirt mainly the IAT sensor, and wideband. (dash has to come off i think)
-Engine Mounts
-Exhaust/Downpipe.

Can you run the CPS from a BP? If your going to use mega Jizz why not try to go COP? That would be like fish net stockings on an already DEAD SEXY Hotty.
Please explain why the Dash has to come out for wideband...
Some people like to read fiction,I prefer to read repair manuals. Weird I know- Henry Ford: "Failure is the opportunity to begin again more intelligently" Fuseable Link Distribution Block repair link

Nitrofarm. I love your reasoning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!! This is what i wanted to get out of this thread.... hilarity!
I was thinking of running cops. 2 things are stopping me. 1) cost 2) wiring issues possibly
When i turbo'd my miata, i had to add in wires and prety much re-do the entire engine bay harness, the miata ecu is located right under the passenger side kickboard so it was super easy to access. I want to run a wire directly to the ecu for the wide band like i did on my miata.
Ok I'm a little confused about the term "ecu" are we talking the MS ecu? And when you say Wide Band directly to the ecu you have to mean the MS right? Because you cant "add" anything to the "stock" ecu correct? So with those questions out of the way, isnt it safe to assume you can mount the MS anywhere you desire? Like where the glove box goes or under a seat etc etc. And if money wasn't a issue we would run two MS systems in parallel just like a real race team would do.Then if needed switch of #1 and turn on #2 the back up unit. Anyway if you could find someone parting out a BP with CPS & COP it would be great. The wiring is gonna be very easy with the MS to run that set up. Yes a few extra wires to the coils but for what your building it would be much more bullet proof. But I totally understand the cash flow issue. You can always "Upgrade to the COPs after you get her running if you want.

I need to do some more research on this topic.
Im going to run one of lex's stratified PNP ecu's. For the price, you cant beat it. And to assemble one yourself from scratch from DIY autotune is just as expensive. It's kind of the only choice really.
And yes, with my Link ECU install in my miata, i added 2-4 wires to the harness for knock/spark/wideband.
Speaking of which, i better buy an ecu quick. The engine is coming together fast and the car is just about to be brought back from hibernation
Ok gottcha-Does your Yiata have the G4 Atom? I really lke the Display link they have available... What are you looking to spend on Lex's ECU and software?
