I'm one of those guys with the "buy & sell" disease. I'm already considering selling all my gear and doing something different.. haha. wtf is wrong with me! I lose interest in things so quickly. either that or I just like money. Obviously, I like to make a profit. I picked up the festiva and the capri xr2.. decision time. keep them and combine the two cars into one and commit to the project or sell it all and get something that's already put together that's not a huge project. I don't know. uggghh. I'd like to have the turbo festiva and all but, I'm thinking maybe I don't have the time & energy to take on a project like this.. I'll probably end up with two cars in pieces taking up the garage for a year.. ha! I'll sleep on it.
just be patient.. allow yourself to set yourself the goal of putting it together and making something good.

Absorb the idea of a festiva turbo... look at the work that's involved.. i just stripped out my capri as well.. trust me, the biggest part of it is not working on your own car and feeling like it's for nothing due to the fact that all the work you do at the start isn't going into your car.. but think about it again, and all that work will allow you to get everything into your car. The festiva, will be a beast and people will get jealous.. so embrace that ok.

In the end, you will have a fantastic car and it will be everything you wanted and more... no go get it tiger... rrrrrar.

Very motivational.. I like the part where you rrraarr'd like a tiger! Haha

Yeah.. I've done many a' swaps in my time so, I'm confident I can pull it off but, at the same time.. I'm just tired of projects. If I was less poor I'd probably pay someone to do it but, I guess I'll have to do it myself... Cause I'm broke as heeelll!

I need to do more research and figure out what the easiest way to go about this is.. Having the entire donor car must be an advantage for me. I wonder if I can just use the entire harness out of the xr2 and just plug & play that shiieet.

Does anyone know for certain if the brakes will just swap over? It has rear discs.. Not sure about those.

Also, I'll probably have to make motor mounts..

      Any other tips to share?

      Thanks!

Front brakes can be swapped over. I don't believe the rears can.

Your wheels look exactly like this model of AR wheel put on backwards:

They were obviously made in 4 X 114.3mm as well. Model number was AR-24.

Nice score! Sleep on it before you decide to sell the Festiva. There are also other, simpler engine swaps, and the Aspire/Rio front brake/knuckle/strut options are really good stuff.

If you need instant gratification I wouldn't recommend swapping a festiva.

Well, I thought about selling it but, now i'm commited to modding it. I got new wheels, ordered new tires, ordered new mk3 front shocks, mk1 rear kyb's, southwestspeed coilover sleeves, nuts & springs.

Once I get this thing in the right stance, I'll have to paint it and it should be far less homosexual.

                    The wheels are 14x6.75 -10 in 4x114.3
The tires that came on them are 195/55/14 Kumho victoracer v700's but, I ordered some 165/55/14 Federals for a little stretch so, I can lower it more. I'll probably have to roll maybe pull the fenders but, I'm prepared to do so.

I didn't get the new tires yet but, this is what the wheels look like. I'm going to do the wheel stud conversion when the tires get here.

I second that question! Those are awesome and with a few degrees of negative camber they will fit under the fenders with no flares needed. I am jealous. 14" wheels will look proportionate for a great stance. If you ever want to sell those, let me know.

Will do. Thanks guys. I was very happy to come across those wheels. I've been hunting craigslist for a while.. Really struggling to decide on a wheel for weeks.. And when I happened across those wheels I knew they were the ones. Gotta keep on eye on CL for them deals! The wheels just have thru holes in them so, I have to convert to studs and shanked nuts but, no biggie. They are probably as old as the car or older. they are aftermarket but, were on an old MG that someone was autocrossing and came with some pretty slick tires. I also made some hubcentric rings.

I'm really looking forward to my tires & suspension getting here!

I thought someone was playing a joke on me when I opened my southwestspeed box.. I wasn't expecting the rear springs & sleeves to be that tiny., haha. Cute.

Can't wait to start sticking it all together.
