I machined some top hats today.. Front & rear. I also drilled & tapped my sleeve nuts for set screws.

I tore into it last night.. Had to burn the bushing out of the rear shock lowers and torch them off. The bolts were siezed up in the sleeves. Got some mock up stuff finished.. Did some figuring.. Gonna do more today.

Heres some teaser pics. This is with no rolling or pulling.. I think I can make this shiz happen!

The front is inaccurate because the strut is off.. Lots of camber in it so, this pic is just for fun..

Well, the cheap sensen struts I got for the mk2 are too long.. Maybe they are mk3, i'm not sure but I thought they were the same. Anyways.. They don't have enough travel left at the height I want to run them at. There is about 1/2" to 3/4" of travel at ride height. With a bump stop in there its rigid.not good.

I picked up a pair of 1st gen neon monroe struts.. They are a little bit shorter.. I'll see if I can make them junkers work.

The rears turned out good.. The 175# 8" springs actually feel a bit soft though.

                        Stock festiva / mk2 vw / mk1 neon

The neon should work great for me.

Got it mostly figured out.. Needs less front camber but, I got sick of screwing with it for now. The 175# rear springs feel too soft.. I'll have to figure out my bumpstops and utilize those. The fenders are rolled flat, no pulling. It can go lower but, thats about where I want it.

                          Die-Laughing's Car. 89' carb'd 1.3 4spd / coilovers / wheels & tires / bubble gum splatter / pink zip tie mod. Wassup!
