  • just bought a b6t festiva..

hello everyone!, figured i would post about the festiva i just picked up.
it is a 88 lx, completely gutted. previous owner put in a mazda b6t engine,
along with the matching transmission from a gtx or gt if im correct (im trying!)
the car came with one hell of a hack job for a "wiring scheme"
it seems to have the stock festiva harness controlling all the lights and power,
whilst anything for the engine, is MIA..

heres a shot of the bay

a shot of the front, the day i got it.

The interior is very, well empty. except for the recaro seats. (had to pay extra of course)

It's a fairly clean car. no rust. (sorry for the crappy pics)

Here is the wiring in question off the ignition

Anyways, i did a little research of my own. concluded that i will swap in a bp from a EGT (92)
and run a gtx/gtr intake. with a protege harness and ecu (aquired it off of craigslist) & maybe some boost.
i'll be sure and keep you all posted, and any tips or advice along the way would be much appreciated.

It's a clean engine, and im mechanicly experienced. its just something new. so im looking forward to a sweet new ride.

    Thanks for your time!:gritteeth:

Your gonna love that car! Is there any suspension mods done yet or is all of that yet to be done? It doesn't take much to make it handle really good too.

i also had some questions regarding the firewall and fitmit of this bp, will the bp sit exactly the same in the bay as the b6t? if so, i might have to cut a chunk out of the firewall with the gtr/gtx intake being used. can post pics of the mounts if there is multiple fitments based on what style of mount you fab.

why are you ditching the b6t for a bp? with little mods you can have that motor makeing 200hp easily in this light chassis and it looks like most of the work is already done for you!

i plan on force feeding the bp, it seems like parts are more readily available and cheaper, plus its been proven for 12's on here. idk, seemed like a better all around choice. i have a daily too, so im not depending on it. GOOD QUESTION!
