  • I went to a local automotive school for a local car show.
And they had a brand new mustang dynamometer.
They were doing dyno runs for people.
I was one of the last ones on for the day.

The problem is they didn't have any obd2 hookups
    Or rpm signal hookups.
    Or air sniffers
And the values they gave me were.

    43.3 hp@ 1850 rpm
    125.8 tq@1663 rpm

I'm pretty sure this is very innacurate.
I can feel the torque peak kick in at 4200 rpms.
The operator also noted my wideband didn't go above 13:1 afr.
Usually when my car hits open loop it drops down to 12.5:1 afr

Anyone in here have any dyno shops nearby the pittsburgh area
I could get my beast calibrated, tuned, and tested at that would give me more accurate results?

    • 126 torques ~1700RPM. No way.

      Something was very wrong there.

If they had no RPM signal hookups how did they know at what RPM anything happened?

      • The numbers are close but the rpms are way off. You loose 20% on a mustang dyno. Puts you at about 60 crank hp, sound like it's running a little rich.

They had my tach inside the vehicle to visually see the rpms but no way to connect it with dyno readings.

My wideband was at 13:1 afr while doing the runs.
But any other day while I drive it sits at 12.5afr @wot.
And with the long tube header back exhaust system I should have more hp than stock.

It sucks lol. I wanted a better Guage of the mods and this didn't help.

From what I've seen online a stock aspire should put down 54 at the wheels.
With my mods I'm thinking 63 at the wheels.
ScanguageII shows 75hp at the crank but I can't rely on it for a Tru hp/tq measurement (even tho it was spot on when aspire was stock, and in the corolla when I use it.)

          • angry9:My car has just been sitting since my accident. Sad times. I look at it everyday .

It would be runnig but I had a bad year. Friend died of cancer, i got injured then surgery, then during recovery our cat died of cancer.
I'm still not fully functional to do car repairs yet. But will get back there and get her moving again. I miss beating that stereo and the smooth feel of that new suspension. Those brand new rotors are rusted from sitting angry9:20170321_170446.jpg

It didn't get better, it only got worse.

Wife divorced me for her "best friend" who she claimed she fell in love with...

                  I'm leaving the state.
It's been about 7 weeks since it happened.

I'll be leaving for Washington State on Sunday.

Dropping the aspire off to mattdickmeyer tomorrow.
Gonna have him do an engine build for me.

Along with getting the front+rear suspension dialed in with camber plates and such.

Once done I will have it shipped home
I've been waiting for this day to come for years now.

I'm finally hopefully gonna realise my dream of a built n/a aspire :-)

                    • Before you do such things as camber plates, look at the advanced suspension thread. There's been a lot of new suspension development since you put your car together.

Nate is producing tapered rear spindle spacers for rear camber adjustment.

Typical camber plates are completely unnecessary.

                            • Things have been good lately.
I think life is moving forward now.

Right now I'm working on building a new stereo for my 2003 Hyundai accent.

Already ordered the infinity kappa k4 & k1000 amps. Piecing together the rest slowly now.
One of the next items will be some dynamat.

                              But that's another story ;-)
