What's wrong with the grill clip design? I'm impressed by those little clips. Mazda used them on lots of cars, so they are pretty easy to find. I'd imagine you could even buy new ones somewhere (green sales?).

They break. A lot. Possibly something to do with being in a more humid environment, but mine always break. And they are annoying IMO.

I would prefer 4 screws, or 2 hangers and 2 screws, or really nearly any other way they could have done it without plastic fasteners.
Any difference that makes no difference is no difference.

Hmm, usually the dry desert air plays hell on plastic. I guess we have found 1 plastic part that doesn't hate the desert. Hooray! I wonder if New clips can be purchased.

New clips can be had, other cars must use them also because when I worked at a bodyshop we had a bin full of new clips that were mostly commonly used ones, and those same clips were in there and a larger version. "Crest" was the name of the supplier we had at the shop. http://www.crestauto.com/ I'm not seeing it on their website, but check around at local body shops, one of them is sure to have those clips in stock.

Mine, I assume, survived for a good while. But they definitely degraded around the clips.
the ones on my seabring and on the honda degraded here pretty quick after a transition from spring to summer. But it was record heat here.

I would like them made in metal or a more weather friendly, for durability and a more secure fit.

Also, im with sketchman. 4 or 5 clips would be ideal for me. K.I.S.S
