  • mini gun rear mock up ( new pic )

I was going to use standard SHO rear struts but changed my mind and going to do coil overs in the rear to match the front, this way its easier to play with ride height.

I'm in limbo waiting on UPS to deliver some stuff but I have all the tubes bent. This give you an idea how I'm going to support the rear struts, there will be a cross brace between the upper strut mounts and another cross bar in the main hoop. The rear braces will tie into a tube that I have cross wise in front of the bumper. Once all this is tied together I can start cutting out the rear quarters for tire clearance and start building the plugs to make the fiberglass fenders.

It also has two bars extending forward under the seats to tie into the lower front control arms to make everything a little more ridged. I'm afraid any more than that and its starts to get to heavy.

looks good. I used to have a taurus wagon (two actually) and I always dreamed of doing an SHO swap into one of those... They are great motors, and it looks good in the back of your festy there. Keep us posted on the progress!
    No festiva for me ATM...

i think would look nice if it looked like she was sitting on the back tire, with an obnoxiously large gun

I bent it myself, it took a while since it was a one off part, made the main four bends and had to sneak up on each one little at a time. Since it is welded to another support it would be too short in a normal festiva. After I'm caught up with this project I will be looking into making some Festiva parts, a 4 point roll bar is one of them.

I borrowed a bender from work. Its a hand bender so its not great for doing lots of production work. The steel is cheap, I can get a main hope and rear struts out of a single 21 FT piece which goes for $34.00 . I have to sit down and figure out the labor part.
